Dear TI Community.

We're currently developing a Battery Management PCB, which should have a funktionality like a USB Powerbank. There is a LiOn Battery integrated and we use the BQ27541-G1 Battery fuel gauge.

We were able to create the Golden Image with the BQStudio, where we wanted to identify the capaity of the battery. There were three files generated finally.

Once we program this image to an other chip, the burn process in BQStudio succeed but the Battery fuel gauge (BQ27541-G1) do not answer anymore. It is dead.

We use following system:

Windows 7 Environment with the BQStudio. -> USB via EV2300 to Fuel Gauge via I2C interface.

Unfortunately we were not able to find any description or help document, concerning this topic.

Hi Halil,

Can you confirm what firmware version is on the ev2300. experience has shown that to be the culprit often bricking devices programmed with it if it is running on old firmware.

If the version is not 3.1 m or r, pls enssure update your firmware using the attachement below:

1768.EV23000_876FW Updater.zip

Hello Onyx!
Thanks for your message. We've checked our device, it is unfortunately with Firmware Version 3.1c.
We wanted to update the device with your hint, but the updater require two EV2300, one as a controller and the second one to be updated via SMBUS. So, what to do? do we need to purchase a second ev2300?
