If the sense resistor is short, how is bit 6(DSG) of BatteryStatus() displayed?

The current should be reported at 0mA and the DSG bit would be cleared.

Is DSG bit "1;battery is discharging"?

And how can we detect short state of the sense resistor?

DSG bit 1 means that you are in dsg state. That means you can either have no current with the dsg fet on or have an active dsg.

Which is the initial value of DSG bit "0" or "1"?
We want to know methods other than "The current should be reported at 0 mA".
Is there any method?

Initial value of dsg is always 1 when the gauge sees no current. It will be cleared when a chg I is seen. A short across Rsns will give you an instant 0 current. There is no other way to know it. Eventually you'll either trip CUV or COV depending on the direction of the current.
