LM3424-Q1: LM3424 Thermal NTC connection

Part Number: LM3424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3424

Hi all,

Can you help my customer with below question for LM3424 application,  I would like to know if the follow NTC circuit is possible? I am wondering if any noise coupling for the second LM3424 which TSENSE is connected with a relatively long route and if a small Cntc connected between TSENSE and GND enough to fix the noise issue? Many thanks!

  • Hi Ted,

You can use a capacitor at the input of TSENSE to filter out the feedback signal if there is no DC differential in the two grounds. The cap will help with high frequency noise filtering.

The other issue is that there can be offset error in the sensing because of different Vs on the two parts and the TSENSE input is a differential input. This differential input error can also be eliminated if you have one master part and use that as a TREF input for the other part along with caps at the input.

    Thanks Tuan
