RE: BQ51050B: Device NTC Calculation

Hello Bill,

We've come to the realization that the TS / NTC macros fail to run and so we can't calculate the values for our design.

Do you have an updated spreadsheet or could you please provide the resistor values for 0-45°C? We currently use this thermistor (3380K): ERT-J0EG103JM but are open to suggestions as we are going to have to update and re-fab our boards.

As a side question, what is the best way to measure Ls'? We have an LCR meter but measures inductance at 1 KHz not at the 100KHz needed.

Thanks!
Juan Pablo DT

  • Hello Juan

Do you have an updated spreadsheet or could you please provide the resistor values for 0-45°C? --Bill J - I have looked at this before and it will require a high Beta NTC for 0 to 45C solution, in the range of 4500k to 5500k.

As a side question, what is the best way to measure Ls'? We have an LCR meter but measures inductance at 1 KHz not at the 100KHz needed. -- Bill J - 1KHz is very low not sure how accurate the results will be.
  • Hello Bill,

I found the thread where you help someone solve this issue for the same temperature 0-45 C, however finding a 6.8k with 4500 beta has proven somewhat challenging. Is there a way to get a copy of the spreadsheet that works so we can better adjust the NTC for availability?

The image attached is the problem we always get when running the solver; this was attempted in Excel and LibreOffice with similar results. Also, we downloaded it multiple times without success.

  • I will contact and we can work this problem off line.
  • Just a quick update -- we know that the Win 7 will have problems with this file.
