Hi all,

How to disable battery charging ?

Requirement: I want continuously system power from input at the same how to disable battery charging.

Hello Siva,
To do this with the BQ24070, you have to set the TS outside of the normal temperature range by either pulling the pin low to ground or above 2.1V. This will disable charging while powering OUT from IN if CE is high. If CE is low, OUT will be powered by BAT.
Another way to do this is using the BQ24073. You can disable charging by pulling /CE high while still powering the output. However, if the load is higher than the input current limit, the battery will go into supplement mode and supply the remaining current needed.

You can. You can also take a look at the BQ24073 for a better solution to this problem.

Hi Raheem,

1. we have done design, PCB and functional testing also, now it is in production stage.

In design we are connected TS pin to battery, for your reference I am adding schematics

if I pull TS to low battery charging is disable how to enable charging by using I/O

Siva,
You'll have to pull TS low only for the duration that you want battery disabled. I'll suggest connecting I/O to a FET that pulls TS low when you want battery charging disabled.
