LM5176: Request more detail LM5176 data

Part Number: LM5176

Customer did a X-ray scan and they found the pin26~28 was damaged under buck/boost mode, but we are unable to capture any over-stress waveform. Also we tried to add +8V Zener on the BOOT pin but pin was still damaged, so the customer is suspecting the pin might be damaged due to high dv/dt.

Could you please check the SW, BOOT, DRV pin be damaged if the dv/dt slew rate is too high?

  • Hi Wei Hsin,

Did your customer has the 2k resistor between the input line and VISNS pin? If not, they should add this series resistor.

The LM5176 has Zener protection built in, so the +8V external Zener between the BOOT and SW pins is duplicate.

    Thanks,
    Youhao
