Dears:

As LM3658 is an old part, Do we have any new device can replace it ?

Customer do need below inductors :

1-power down, charging is suspended or interrupted

2-Pre-qualification mode, CC and CV charging.

3-charging is completed

4-Bad battery(safety timer expired )

A couple of devices to look at are BQ24040 and BQ24072, they meet the above requirements.
We do not have a drop in replacement for LM3658 and newer devices do not have STAT1 / 2. But most have 1A max current and 100mA/500mA USB charging options.

The LM3658 has STAT1 and STAT2 pins to provide more information on mode of operation. If this is required see BQ24080 or BQ24081.
Note that the LM3658 and BQ24080 / 81 do not have input over voltage protection (OVP). Input voltage is limited to 6.5V or 7V.
But the BQ24040 and BQ24072 have input OVP over 20V. But the mode indication is limited to Power Good and Charge indicaiton.
