BQ24650: Max charge current

Hi Sir

May I know BQ24650 max charge current ? Can BQ24650 used for 20A charge current ?

Due to I saw BQ246x0 can support 10A charge current in datasheet ,but I don't see the maximum charge current SPEC in BQ24650 datasheet

Hello Kai,
Yes, BQ24650 can be used for 20A charging. 20A is BQ24650 max charging, and can be seen on ti.com. If you search BQ24650 products it will show up as a part with maximum charging current of 20A.

The amount of charge current is a function of external FET gate charge and capacitance. The bq24650 gate driver's can only drive so much current. Worst case, you will have to add a gate driver and/or unity gain buffer to boost the gate drive strength.
