TPS7A05: use TPS7A05 to replace LD39015M18

Hi Team,

our customer is using LD39015M18 in their battery powered product, and we want to replace it.

Their input voltage is 2.0-2.6V, output is 1.8V/100mA. They are using SOT-23 package, pin to pin is must.

And they want similar or lower Iq and Shutdown Iq than LD39015M18.

For TPS7A05, it has lower Iq, but higher shutdown Iq. 

Could you give some comments to this or recommend some more suitable parts?

    Hi Will,

    LD39015 shutdown Iq is 1 nA typ to 1000 nA max at 25°C. 1000x change between typical and max.
    TPS7A05 only has 3x change between 100 nA typical and 300 nA max. TPS7A05 has much less variation and max is 70% lower than ST part.

    LD39015 operating Iq is 38 uA typ and 70 uA max.
    TPS7A05 the operating Iq is less than 6 uA for 100 mA Iout. These are different categories of LDOs since Iq operating (Ignd) are so different.

    Hi Will,

    LP5951 is close to same Iq and Iq shutdown performance, but dropout is higher.
    LP3990 has higher Iq, but lower Iq shutdown and slightly higher typical dropout.

    In addition to TPS7A05, these parts are the closest TI LDOs for this application.
