BQ76930: BQ76940 + BQ76930 of 25 series battery , the 11 (the second of BQ76940) damage

Part Number: BQ76930
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76940,

BQ76930(VC0-VC10) , BQ76940(VC10-VC25) , when the connector insert  , VC0 & VC1 of BQ76940 may be damaged . And it's not the first time.

Then I use multimeter to measure the impedance of VC0 & VC1 . It's 312Ω and I know it's abnormal.

  • Hi,

The bq769x0 family is not designed for stacking, but it can be done with careful board design considerations. I cannot say what is causing the damage you are seeing. Here is a link to a TI reference design where stacking of 2 bq76940 devices is used. Check the schematic and layout to see if there are any hints for what your problem might be.

    Best regards,
    Matt
