Yes version A is having separate status for each channel. I would like to simulate my use case with version A model before finalizing.

I have one more doubt. The current limit feature through CL pin is for individual channel or as a whole IC? Let say if 2.5A. Is it for one channel or as a total?

I need to work with the simulation team for generation a model for A version but not sure how long it takes.

External resistor on current limit pin is for individual channel. And all channels have the same current limit within the specified tolerance. If you calculate the external resistor Rcl = Vcl x Kcl/Iout and Iout = 2.5A, so single channel current limit is 2.5A and not the whole IC current. The nominal whole IC current is 4 x 2.5A = 10A.

In the datasheet its mentioned the internal current limit maximum is 14A. Does this mean for each channel its 14A? If not what is the maximum current limit for each channel.

The nominal DC current is supported by a single channel. The recommended 2.5A is per channel. Let' s say there are 3 light loads and 2.5A load. The power dissipation Pd in the device should be taking in consideration. The total power dissipation is the sum of individual power dissipation in each channel. Pd = Pd1 + Pd2 + Pd3 + Pd4. Individual channel power dissipation for example Pd1 = Ron(max) x square (IOUT). Suppose channel 1 carrying the 2.5A, Pd1 = 0.28Ohm x square (2.5A) = 1.75 watts. The juntion to ambient temperature is RthJA = 32.7C/W and Tj - Ta = 32.7C/W x 1.75W = 57C. The max junction temperature is 150C and this means if only one channel is loaded with 2.5A, the max ambient temperature is 150C - 57C = 93C. If each of the other channels is loaded with the same 2.5A, the temperature rise Tj - Ta = 4 x 57C = 229C. The device will be thermally shutting down.
Let's say the other channels carry 0.2A, the power dissipation due to low current is not significant because the current is squared.
Conclusion each channel can drive 2.5A but thermal has to be taking in consideration.
