BQ34Z100-G1: Current Resistor Cacluations

Hi,

Can I just confirm I am calculating the power requirement for the Sense Resistor correctly.

* System running at 50A  24V DC

* Selected sense resistor 0.0025R

* Voltage drop across sense resistor 0.125V

* Therefore

(I = V / R) = (0.125V / 0.0025R = 50A)

(P = V * I ) = (0.125V * 50A = 6.25W)

So selecting a 10W, 0.0025R sense resistor should be ok for my design?

    Yes, these calculations are correct and this value should be okay. I think you might already be familiar with the below app note on using the bq34z100-G1 for high current applications, but I will pass on the link just in case and for others who may refer to this forum post in the future:
