BQ35100: Communication failure after programming srec file

Hi,

Now the customer has evaluated bq35100 and they are facing communication failure after programming srec file. They prepared the srec file by using EVM and then they found communication failure when they programmed the srec file to their prototype board. Have you had experience like this? Please let me know what information I should confirm to find the cause of this issue.

And also, I'd like to know how to operate bq35100 as mask ROM mode to access such communication failed device.

Hi Satoshi,
Can the customer verify the following:
-What adapter device is being used? Ev2300 or Ev2400?
-What firmware version is on the adapter that is being used. If ev2300 pls verify it is 3.1m or r. If ev2400 pls verify it is version 18 or 20
-What version of bqstudio are they using?
-What firmware version of the bq35100 are they using. make sure it is v1.02 otherwise download from the link www.ti.com/.../sluc623

If the device is non-responsive, it is likely bricked and the chip needs to be replaced.

Hi Onyx,

Here is the information of each version.

- EV2300 : 3.1c

- bqStudio : 1.3.80

- bq35100 FW : v1.02

Actually they have used old EV2300. Do you think this is cause of non-responsive after programming srec file?

I attached the customer's gg file. Please let me know if you need more information.

Hi Satoshi,

I am 100% certain the 3.1c on the ev2300 is the cause of the chip getting bricked. if you search the forums, you will see other instances with other customers running into bricked chips due to the 3.1c. They need to update to 3.1m or 3.1 r or Use the ev2400.
