LM3414: Calculating Peak Inductor Current

Part Number: LM3414

Application Note 2076 for the LM3414 says that the peak inductor current should be 836mA if you use the example values provided in the document (Formula 5 on page 4) However when I plug in the provided values into the formula, I get 701mA.

Those sample values are:

  • Vin(max) = 24.72
  • Vf(min) = 18
  • L(min) = 14.4
  • f(sw) = 1000
  • I(led) = 0.7

((24.72-18)*18)/(14.4*24.72*1000*2)+0.7 = .701

Am I missing something?
