UCC28950: adjust phase angle between two active bridge

Part Number: UCC28950
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

to whom this may concern,

I am evaluating the UCC28950 chip to control a dual active bridge instead of controlling a SR PSFB. Plan to use two separate chips to control each active full bridge on primary and secondary side. What would be the best strategy in order to adjust the phase shifted angle between these two chips thus controlling the phase shifted angle between two active bridges?

thanks.

  • Hi Yang,

I need to pulling a more experienced applications engineer to respond to your post. You should see a response tomorrow due to differences in time zones.

  • Hello Yang

You can synchronise two UCC28950 devices to a two phase clock and control the angle between the clock phases to adjust the phase between the two devices.

This would work but I'm not sure that it is what you actually need. I'd suggest that you download the TINA-TI transient simulation model from the device web page, make the modifications needed for a dual active bridge and see how it works. To simplify things you could replace the switching MOSFETs with voltage controlled switches turned on and off directly by the OUTx signals from the controllers.
