TPS546C20A: Reset pin of TPS546C20A

Part Number: TPS546C20A

customer  did a testing for the reset pin with pull up 470ohm or 1Mohm.  When the reset pin is configured as input(reset function),  the voltage of pin is almost 2.5V~2.6V.

From the datasheet of TPS546C20A, there is internal pull down resistor 750Kohm. So, why the pin voltage is changed as pull up resistor changed.

Note: there is only pull up resistor closed to the reset pin, no other connection.

  • Chen,
The self-clamping resistor used in the PGOOD function is balanced inside the part with an internal pull-up resistor to make the pin high-impedance with a small internal pull-up when used as a RESET function. The small internal pull up is the reason why you see pin voltage change when pull up resistor is changed.
