BQ40Z50: BQ40Z50 consume power after CUV of cell

Part Number: BQ40Z50

I discharge the cell to CUV protection and leave the cell alone for 2 days. And the voltage of Cell 3 is 2.101V below 2.5V. It seems like that energy is dissipated. I wander whether BQ40Z50 consume energy itself after CUV. The configuration is SHUTDOWN VOLTAGE=1.75V, PS SHUTDOWN VOLTAGE =2.5v and PWR_SAVE_VSHUT disabled.
Is BQ40Z50 consume energy to lead the voltage of cell down? If I enable PWR_SAVE_VSHUT and set SHUTDOWN VOLTAGE 2.6v to force BQ40Z50 to shut down for saving power.

  • Are you truly shut down? Shutdown implies no comms, smbus lines floating. For this the pack pin voltages have to be zero. If you keep communicating with the gauge, you will run down the battery because the gauge is awake and is consuming power.
