  • Hello Jiwoo,

The bq25892 is a single-cell switching charger, it's not suitable for a 2-cell configuration. I recommend reviewing the bq25882 which is a boost charger that can support 2-cells packs.

Cell-balancing is recommended when charging multi-cell packs to account for mismatches in cell impedance that may cause imbalance during the charging process. This will also improve cell longevity in the process. The bq25882 currently doesn't offer cell-balancing, but you can leverage a multi-cell monitoring/protection device that offers cell-balancing. You can start by reviewing a device like bq29200 with offers 2-cell OVP and cell balancing.
