Is there a minimum duration to which the fault timer can be set?

What's the lowest recommended capacitor value for C_T?

I see t_F_TRIP listed as 1.2us (max). I'm trying to figure out what the minimum duration is from a fault (power/current limiting) to Vgs=gnd.

    Hi Bryan,

    Fault timer period or C_T value is determined by how much time you can serve the overload at the output without exceeding the SOA limit of the external FET.
    The design calculation tool would help you to calculate after feeding all the system inputs. It is available at www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

    Regarding t_F_TRIP: During large overload or output short conditions, the GATE will be pulled LOW in 1.2us.
    If it is a new design, I recommend to consider LM5069 device over TPS249x. LM5069 has strong 230mA pull down current and offers fast response during short circuit fault
