UCC28063: State Transition Diagram

Part Number: UCC28063

Hi teams

Please let me know if you have the state transition diagram?
If you don't have, would you confirm this situation the correct?
The operation is stable state
The timing of GDB is OFF, then GDA will be OFF simultaneous.
(I think this situation is affected of over current.)
After several 100 ns,The GDA/GDB will re ON simultaneous.
The GDA/GDB is restart by same phase.
Best regards
Hayashi
  • Hello Hayashi-san,

I'm sorry, there is no state-transition diagram available for this device.

I hope that I interpret your question correctly.
If GDA and GDB are both OFF simultaneously (due to over-current protection, for example) they can resume switching if each ZCD signal follows the proper sequence (ZCDx voltage falls from above 1.7V to below 1.0V).

If the ZCDx signal is lost by any reason, switching cannot resume automatically. If there is no ZCDX activity detected within a 210-us interval, an internal pulse triggers both outputs GDA and GDB to restart. This restart causes GDA and GDB to turn on simultaneously, and the internal phase-locked-loop will begin to shift the timing of the outputs to achieve 180-degree phase-shift after a few switching cycles.

So, yes, GDA/GDB do restart in the same phase. But they will quickly move to become out of phase.
The restart time interval is ~210 us, not several 100 ns.
I hope this answers your question.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
