BQ24210: What is the minimum required current to work with this chip?

Hi,

I am researching on charging circuits for my 2600mah. What is the min current required to ON this chip. I have 65ma and 5v solar panel. I need a circuit to charge my 2600mah. Or is there any other IC works better than this, I want design a circuit with only 5v 65ma solar panel.

The bq24210 quiescent current is 1.2mA max and minimum regulated charge current is 10mA. It will charge your battery up to its input voltage, which is likely be 5 VOC*80%MPP =4V but it will take a long time (>2600mAhr/65mA = 40 hours). To do this, you would need to tie the bq24210's TS to VTSB to force the charger into LPCM, which disables its safety timer.

The bq25505 is a boosting charger, designed for slightly lower power panels than you have but it will work for your application.
