LMR36006: how to enable lmr36006 using TPS2379

hello all,

I am using TPS2379 for POE pd interface and LMR36006 for step down conversion.

here the CBD pin of TPS2379 is open drain active low and EN pin of LMR36006 is active high.

How can i interface the CDB of TPS2379 to EN pin of LMR36006 , ANY IDEA??

Dhanraj,

Sounds like you'll need an inverter. A FET and a resistor should do the trick.

to trigger the FET I have only 37v-57v coming from POE , but m not able to find any FET with such high Vgs specifications

Dhanraj,

You can use a resistor divider or a resistor/zener to reduce the voltage.

don't you think there will unnecessary power wastage and heat dissipiation across potential devider and that will be continuous and FET also will consume significant space and increase cost

Yes, more components will use more power, cost money, and take space. You will have to look into your specs and requirements to find the best solution for you.

My requirements is to generate 5v from Poe .hence I am using tps2379 for Poe pd interface and lmr36006 for step down conversion...do you think any other combination??
