TEA18363T alternative needed

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28740, UCC28780

hi,

I'm trying to kick out TEA18363T (NXP).

Which is the best alternative?

thanks a lot in advance

  • Vincenzo,

TEA18363T is a flyback controller for up to 75W. The group you posted in can do Fly-Buck but usually for less power. And we are coming out with a flyback but it's for ~10W. You will have more luck in the high-power controllers group. I'll move your post to their group.

  • Hi Vincenzo,

TEA18363T appears to be a quasi-resonant flyback converter with integrated high voltage startup. The closest comparable controller TI offers is UCC28740. UCC28740 also offers frequency dithering for better EMI performance and brownout protection.

If efficiency is a key concern for your customer, then I would take a look at UCC28780 which is an active clamp flyback controller capable of achieving greater power density and better efficiency than a QR flyback.

    Best Regards,
    Ben Lough
