Hello ,

I have a few questions regarding the use of BQ35100 at the eval kit level and on a protoboard.

1. I am testing the Eval kit with a LiSOCl2 batterybut do not see the state of charge information. While I can see the voltage change gradually over time, the SOC always reads zero. I ran through the calibration routine, am I missing something?

2. I generated a .srec file using the golden image tab. For testing the BQ35100 performance on the proto board, what is the firmware that I need to test it with? Can I start of with the .srec file? In that case should I program it using the EV2400 or can i use the MCU on the proto to upgrade it?

3. Once we finalize the battery chemistry and firmware settings, what is the process to get the chips pre-loaded?

4. How long does it take to characterize a battery we ship you for chem ID generation and what is the process?

1- Did you program the correct chem id for that cell you are testing. Can you attach a gg file.

2. You can program using the ev2400 on your board and test

3. You will write code to parse the firmware on the chips using your host. See app note below.

4. For lithium primary cells, the process takes about 2months.

Hello,

1. How do I generate the gg file? I have attached the generated .srec file

2. In the EVK set up video, the battery state of health reports a positive value and the battery symbol is green. In this case the Evaluation kit is powered from a external power supply. That has me confused, when I do that I still see 4073.OutputFiles.zip

3. When I test the initial proto board, do I need to load the .srec file first or will it be ready to use with the host MCU ?

Restating point 2 from above:

If using a battery you don t need and an externall power supply

Hello,

1. What is the process to start the battery characterization by TI for generation of Chem ID?

I plan to use 2 XL-060F(LiSOCl2) batteries in parallel , how many batteries should I ship TI?

2. If I donot have the batteries characterized by TI, What is the best way to determine the SOH of the primary cells using the default settings of the BQ35100?

3. Should I recalibrate the IC everytime the battery is swapped?

1. I will contact you offline to provide details on what has to be done.

2.Depends on what type of batteries. If you are trying to use the EOS mode, then you can use the default values. If SOH mode, then You will need the cells actual chem id. You can also use the accumulator mode which does not require a chem id. See the TRM for more details.

3. It depends on what mode. If you are using the EOS mode, there is a new battery command that has to be sent. pls see the trm for additional details.
