SCD problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76930

Hello,

I use TI bq76930 AFE.
I set the AFE SCD threshold 111mV(111A)(Rsense is 1m ohm).

I use chroma test equipment to do discharging test.
When the discharge current is 70A, the SCD happened.
Could you know how to get the current value?
Is there any register I can get from it?

Another problem is that how come AFE issue SCD fault when the discharge is 70A?

Thanks

  • Hi Matt,
The bq76930 will trigger an SCD fault when the sense inputs exceed the SCD threshold for more than the tSCD delay.
There is not a register to indicate the level at which it tripped. The host could monitor current, but SCD is a very short time compared to the CC integration time.
