High Speed Interface Forum

Part Number: DS90UB927Q-Q1

Dear Sir,

Customer found UB927 I2C data can be normal work/transmit when stable LVDS I/P image source.

But UB927 will work fail(cannot transmit I2C data) if image source disappear then re-work OR no image source in initial then come out later. (Read UB927 registers will all "0")

Do you have idea how we can solve kind of issue?

Thanks, Ian.

  • Ian,
it sounds the system issue, please check power supplies, PDB status of UB927.
you can toggle the PDB and check whether UB927's i2c can be accessed.
    Thanks.

    best regards,
    Steven
  • Dear Steven,
We confirmed Power and PDB are stable, if others reason will cause kind of issue?

If possible cause by external LVDS clock disappear cause UB927Q cannot work?
If yes, can we use 927 self pixel clock to be clock source of FPLINK, not use external LVDS signal?
( set Register 0x65 and relative Indirect Register )
Can we use Serdes self clock generator be clock source to transfer external image?
    Thanks, Ian.
  • Dear Guys,
Would you pls help for it?
    Thanks, Ian.
  • Ian,
FPD-link is high speed forum why this is linear regulator forum?
    for your issues:
    1. even if no input LVDS video input to UB927, the I2C link still can work between ser and de-ser. So for your issue, I believe this is system design issue, pls isolate the issue step by step. for example, you can toggle PDB and check whether UB923's I2C can work or not if no LVDS video is inputted.
    2. in the normal operation, UB927 can use internal clock to transmit the external video due to timing incompatibility issue.

    regards,
    Steven
