TPS61030: Low temperature operation problem

Hi team,

Our customer Benewake is using TPS61030 in their project. But for now they get one problem under low temperature operation. Below is their circuit and the output load is no more higher than 2A.

Under the normal temperature operation, the system is OK. But under -20C test, system is abnormal. And customer did the cross experiment. They connect the 5V with external power supply, and the system work normal. So we think it's because of the abnormal of 5V power supply.

Could you give some comments to this?

What kind of abnormal behavior customer found? could you measure the VIN, SW and VOUT waveform to show the abnormal behavior.

Hi Jasper,

Customer find the output of the whole system is abnormal. But for the performance of our parts, they didn't get any specific waveform, they can't measure the output waveform due to the experiment limitation.

Based on your experience and customer's schematic, could you give some comments?

Hi Will,

The current rating of the inductor is smaller that requirement. please change to a larger inductor with >4A capability.
the TPS61030 is actual not a good solution for 3.3 to 5V2A application. the device may trigger current limitation. i would suggest a device as TPS61230A
