BQ25895: continuos monitor stops in case of TS fault

Part Number: BQ25895
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400

Dear all,

one of my AA is noticed a behaviour not described in the datasheet when the BQ25895 goes in TS fault mode.

He is using the EVM and the GUI.

I've reported the sequence of actions he has done:

-          Setup auto read register with 5 seconds refresh (i2c)

-          Setup continuous 1s conversion for adc

-          Wait 5 seconds…

-          Reading some “reasonable” temperature value – OK

-          Wait 5 seconds…

-          Reading some “reasonable” temperature value – OK

-          Trigger temp error by jumper JP8

-          Reading some temperature value – whatever it is because in error – let’s call it valueA

-          Remove the error by jumper JP8

-          Wait 5 seconds…

-          Reading valueA – not OK

-          Wait 5 seconds…

-          Reading valueA – not OK

-          Trigger by evaluation SW “Start Adc”

-          Reading some “reasonable” temperature value – OK

Is there any chance that the CONV_RATE has been cleared due to the TS fault ?

Should the REG0C register be read in order to clear the fault and to restart the monitoring ?

regards,

Domenico
