My customers are considering TPS60205 adoption.

So, can you tell me the following questions?

<Question>
①: Is it possible to use a real capacitance of 0.7μF considering DC bias while the power supply decoupling capacitor data sheet value is 2.2 μF or more ?

②: Is it possible to use a real capacitance of 0.7μF considering DC bias while the output capacitor data sheet value is 2.2 μF or more?

③If these answers are "No", what percent can It use considering DC bias?

Hi Masumi,

The input capacitor Ci depend on the power supply impedance in real application. if the impedance is small, 0.7uF effective capacitance is acceptable.
for the output capacitor Co, I would suggest 2.2uF effective capacitor or closed to this value. otherwise, the VOUT may have large ripple.

Hi Masumi-san,
Like Jasper recommended, you should consider to use a better quality capacitor for the charge pump. It is a very poor quality for a 2.2uF surface value capacitor to reduce down to 0.7uF at not more than 5V dc voltage bias. Please refer to Tables 2 and 3 of the datasheet to choose a proper capacitor or equivalent to those recommended.
