We are looking for IC that meet the following conditions.

Please tell us the recommended products.

Vin=~12V

LED : 1ch and 1 LED

VF= 5V(max)

IC can set up the dimming timing by pulse from the outside.

(We want to light 1 mS out of 100 mS.)

IC can set up the IF from the outside.

(We want to set up 0mA~100mA while lighting.)

Does LM3409 meet the conditions?

Please let me know if there are other good products besides LM3409.

Hi Takahiro,
From your application, I think TPS54201 is the good choice for you. It can change the current with a outside resistor. And It support both analog and PWM dimming. The minumum pulse is 105ns. 1ms outof 100ms should be ok. I suggest you to apply and TPS54201EVM to have a test. Thanks.

I'm sorry that I'm not familiar with LM3409 this device. But it seems this device is designed for high input voltage and high power. I think it's over spec for your application. could you tell me why you want to use LM3409?

Our customer have used LM3409EVM.
So we want to check TPS54201 and LM3409.

Hi Takahiro,
Thanks , I think TPS54201 is more suitable for your application. And TPS54201 is more cheaper. I suggest you to recommend TPS54201 for your customer. We also hav a update device for TPS54201 , it will be RTm next year.

Hi
You can use different Rsense value to change the maximum LED current. And TPS54201 support PWM Dimming Mode, you can change the PWM duty cycle to change the dimming time.
You mentioned you want to change the maximum led current while lighting? TPS54201 can not support this function, it changes the maximum led current with external resistor.

Yes. Do you know the IC that can change the led current(0 to 100mA) while lighting and set up the dimming timing(1mS out of 100mS)?

That should be have a digital interface to change the led current while lighting. How about the flash driver LM36011? You need add a buck to increase the system efficiency.
