Hi,

We would like to use TPS54260 to convert 50V (+/- 3V) dc input to 12V dc output at 2.5A.  Can we use TPS54260 for this application, if so what would be the approximate efficiency.

    The TPS54260 should work well for that application.  The efficiency is greatly dependent on Vout.  For 12 V output, the efficiency shoulf be well over 90 % for most of the load range.  You van use the Switcherpro design tool to gnerate an efficiency plot for your design.
