LM5145: Quickstart Calculator tool (Excel-based) vs. WEBENCH Power Designer?

Part Number: LM5145

We're considering using the LM5145, and we note that it has available both of the tools listed in the subject line.  Which one is more accurate, especially for things like loop compensation and power loss analysis?

Thanks,

Scott

  • Hi Scott,

I would suggest using the Webench tool because many of those models are supported by validation. It also will return errors if your design parameters are unreasonable, and the components used in the schematic are ones that you can purchase online.
