TPS22810: no output of TPS22810

Part Number: TPS22810

  1. Input: 3-6V(from super-capacitor that about 2F) and the EN from the I/O of MCU
  2. There is no output when the en is high after working normally
  3. use the new TPS22810 to replace the NG'TPS22810,the pacb can work normally
  4. SCH is as below

  • Hi Hope,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

I was wondering if you could clarify a few points:

    1. What is the purpose of R70? Are you using R70 to charge an output capacitor?
    2. What values are you using for R70 and R72?
    3. What is your output capacitance?
    4. How are you controlling the slew rate / inrush current? Can we get an oscilloscope shot of the downstream load drawing current during startup?

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huang

  • Answer is as below

    1. What is the purpose of R70? Are you using R70 to charge an output capacitor?---R70 is N.C
    2. What values are you using for R70 and R72?--R70 is N.c and R72 is 10K
    3. What is your output capacitance?---10uf//0.1uf
    4. How are you controlling the slew rate / inrush current? Can we get an oscilloscope shot of the downstream load drawing current during startup?--There is no control the slew rate / inrush current

  • Hi Hope,

How much current are you putting through the device? Are you running the TPS22810 at a high temperature before noticing the failure?

Could you also provide me with oscilloscope images of the TPS22810 working and not working? Capture VOUT, EN, and the input current if possible.

    Thanks,

    Arthur
