BQ24780S: Will ACOK still be pulled low when BQ24780S is not powered?

Part Number: BQ24780S

As the title describes, I have a usecase to where I turn off VCC to BQ2480S to save power but need to keep track on when AC adapter is reaplied. If no AC adapter present, ACOK pulled low, and I power down BQ24780S will it keep ACOK low? BQ2780S will be powered from AC adapter by diode so when adapter reaplied it will realese ACOK.

Regards Martin

  • Martin,

May I ask one question, where is your ACOK pull up power source, is it from VRENG?

For ACOK status, there is description in datasheet. I also captured in below for your reference.

So if there is no power in VCC, then I think this ACOK will be unknow because BQ24780S didn't alive. So if your ACOK pull high is from Vreng then ACOK will still keep low because Vreng is also off.

    Thanks

  • Hello Paul
No we are pulling ACOK to a source that is always high. Thanks for the answer, will try to see if we could pull up ACOK differently.
