TPS4H160-Q1: Does TPS4H160 suitable for Digital output on PLC application?

Dear Sir:

We used TPS4H160 for 24V/500mA digital output on PLC application. But it seem have some thermal issue. Does TPS4H160 suitable for Digital output on PLC application? Does TI have some suggest to us? or TI have other solution better than TPS4H160 on this application?

Hello,

TPS4H160-Q1 is suitable for driving 500mA at 24V. In steady state there should be no thermal issue. Is the thermal issue happen at power up due to capacitive load? what is the PLC input capacitance value? Is the current limited at 500mA? Is the steady state current 500mA/channel?

Do you have scope measurment for output volatge and load current? Please post it if you have it.
