dc/dc selection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25120, TPS62743, TPS62800

Hi Ti expert,

I have a requirement for power management. We need a DC/DC IN:3,7V,Vout,2.8V ,I 300mA. With 3 LDO,one   Iout is 200mA,one is 100mA,the other is 10mA(continue working). with a charger for 300mA Li battery and a Fuel Gauge. if we have integrated IC?

Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Sara,
Thanks for your interest in TI devices! but TI doesn't have one IC with all your needs. From what you listed, at least 3 ICs are needed: one charger, one Fuel Gauge and third one for 4 power rails.
    More details are needed:
    1. What's the charger input source? (I guess the charger is for the 3.7V normal Li-Ion battery)
    2. All power rails output voltage?
    3. The DC/DC input voltage range? 3.7V should be the battery typical voltage; its range could be from 3V to 4.35V.
    4. If the LDOs can be replaced by DC/DC converter for better efficiency?
Please let's know if you have more questions.
    Thanks!
    Phil
  • Hi Sara,

The bq25120 contains some of your required functions and is very popular in your ultra-low power application.

If you need discrete bucks, we have TPS62743/6/8 and TPS62800/1/2 which are very small and low power.
  • Dear Chris,
    Thanks a lot.
