UCC27611: UCC27611 from EPC reference design

Guru 16770 points
Part Number: UCC27611

Hi

I obtained following schematics from EPC site.

https://epc-co.com/epc/Portals/0/epc/documents/schematics/EPC9126_Schematic.pdf

In this schematics, VDD and VREF of UCC27611 seem to be shorted.

Originally, I believe that the short between VDD and Vref won't be capable for UCC27611.

(So the schematics might be wrong, I think)

Could you tell us your view?

BestRegards

  • Hi nana,

    Good to hear from you!
EPC9126 has the input V7in which goes through U1 5V LDO on TP1. This 5v is feeding both the driver and logic circuitry on the board.
UCC27611 has an internal LDO through the VDD pin in which take 4-18v and output a clean 5v on VREF to feed the output. VDD is needed for logic bias and VREF for drive bias. If VREF and VDD pin are tied together the LDO is defeated and the supply voltage spec is wrt VREF 6v abs max. Does this make sense? Did EPC have any comments?

    Thanks,
  • Hi Jeffrey

    Thank you for your reply.
I wanted to confirm if this usecase includes issues.

I understood the usecase of UCC27611 in EPC9126 design has no concern.

    BestRegards
  • Sounds good if you have any more Qs or need help with speeding up your gate drive system using 611 let me know.
