BQ78Z100: How to pack the 128 bit Authentiion key and share it to battery pack vendor for programming into the chip

Hi,

We supposed that the 128 bit authentication key can be packed by "bqKeyPackager", send the key file and password to battery pack vendor and the Pack vendor can program the key to BQ78z100 by software tool of "bqKeyProgrammer".

However, a real test shows that the bqKeyPackager can not select the device of BQ78Z100 from its UI and needs two 160 bits keys of Key F and Key C.

Does it mean we can not use these two software tools for BQ78Z100? If yes, what tools are recommended?

Please try selecting the bq28z610. The procedure for the bq78z100 is the same as the bq28z610.

Hi Batt,

There are no the bq28z610 for selection.
SHA1 devices in the dropdown list are

SHA1 Key bq40z40x bq4050x
SHA1 Key bq40z80
SHA1 Key bq27750
SHA1 Key bq30z55x
SHA1 Key bq9035

The bqKey Packager version is 1.0.9.

Hi Batt,

We did it before post the question here.

However, we still don't understand How to fill in the required Key F and Key C

They both need to be 20 bytes( 160 bits) required by the beKeyPackager program.

The authentication key is 128 bits how to transform to Key F and Key C ?

It appears that the version of bqkeyprogrammer available online is not compatible with the bq78z100. We have a beta version that's not production tested that is compatible. We are working on getting it qualified for release. If you need it urgently, please PM me and I will send it to you.
