LM5165: LM5165 - Burst mode Ripple

Part Number: LM5165

Hello,

We have a requirement to provide variable output voltage in the following application.

1) Input Voltage: 28V

2) Output Voltage (Uo): 14V (Limited to 15V through Zener)

3) Output Current: 5mA. (momentary 1KHz Square wave 29mA)

Output voltage should be regulated to 14V whenever load current is 5mA. The circuit diagram is attached.

The feedback is taken after 940 ohm current limiting resistor. Due to load capacitance of 0.48uF after 940 ohm, we are seeing 1.5V ripple at output voltage. Snap shot is attached.

Is there any way to reduce this ripple to below 150mV?

During momentary 29mA load, we need 100% duty cycle. So that the output rise time is acceptable with 0.48uF load capacitor.

If 100% duty cycle is not supported, we may need one bypass switch for buck regulator to supply

Please suggest if any alternate part is available for meeting above requirement.

Thanks & Regards,
