Hello TI,I have question about 92692. Please help us to verifly it, thanks.
We can implement analog dimming without PDRV series FET? Looks block diagram 92692's DIM pin recive signal feed to "PWM COMP" and change duty cycle of DRV.
Hi John,
Let me explain things this way to see if it answer your question. Analog dimming is separate from DIM/PWM dimming. You can do analog dimming with IADJ pin separately. For DIM/PWM, it really dimming with PWM'ing of the ouput current by turning on and off the series external P-FET (Qdim). You can read more about the the two different way that we can do PWM'ing in section 8.3.10 of the data sheet.
Qdim is also used for fault disconnect and the conditions are listed in section 8.4 Table 1. You do not have to use Qdim if you are not using DIM/PWM. However, the TPS92692 disable this Qdim under certain fault conditions to disconnect the load from the output and you will not have these features.
What is your end product? This will help us understand your application better.
Thanks Tuan
