UCD9090: ucd9090

Part Number: UCD9090

Hi,

Can we implement Dying GASP circuit for K2L processor EVM with UCD9090. What is the actual time for graceful shutdown when power suddenly fails. what are the hardware changes to be made for this circuit?

We require ti implement dying gasp in our circuit based on K2L EVM. There is no FPGA. We are using TIVA for BMC.

Sumathi

  • Hi
You have to add a hold-up capacitor + diode to make sure the UCD9090 has power before it shutdown all rails. The max current consumption of UCD9090 is 80mA and device stop working when power is below 2.6V. you can calculate the size of the capacitor.
if you have a LDO to provide 3.3V for UCD, you can add the capacitor on the VIN side of the LDO, this way, you can use much small capacitor.
    hope this help.
