TPS53681: TPS53681 support Xilinx VCU

Hi Team,

My customer please use TPS53681 to support Xilinx VCU 37P FPGA, power proposal is as below, and attached is customer's schematic,

APWM1~APWM5 are for FPGA VCCINT 0.9V 150A

BPWM1 is for FPGA MGTAVTT 1.2V 30A

BPWM2 is for FPGA VCC_HBM 1.2V 30A

BPWM3 is for FPGA MGTAVCC 0.9V 30A

    Hi Eddie,

    That schematic will definitely not work.

    Per the TPS53681 datasheet, available on the web, the controller can only handle 2 outputs, not 4. There aren't enough output sense pins, current sense, or PWM pins to support 4 rails.

    For a 5+1 or 5+2 design (depending on how many phases the customer wants to use for a 30A rail) you should configure the CSP lines according to Table 1 of the datasheet to properly set up the controller. Unused CSP and PWM lines cannot be used for other rails. A separate controller or iFET converter will be needed for two of the four aux rails.
