LP55231: External Trigger between 6 drivers

Part Number: LP55231

I have 6 LP55231 devices in my design. They are separated by an I2C mux, 3 on one side and 3 on the other.

All 6 devices share the same external trigger line.

My question is in regards to the masking of the external trigger. The user guide mentions that the signal sent out is masked so that the sending device ignores it. How does the signal get masked? Is it by the I2C address? Or some other method?

So would an external trigger sent out by my lp55231 on one side of the I2C mux with I2C address 0x32 be ignored by the lp55231 on the other side of the I2C mux with the same address?
