bq24610 no low-side gate driver signal

one customer reported no low-side gate driver while the charger is in fast charge phase.

  • Finally, our FAE found customer used a 1mOhm sensing resistor on board instead of 10mOhm as in the schematic.

The total charge current is limit by input DPM setting (3.5A). From the waveform, they have ~3.8A charge current, thus the voltage on 1mOhm sensing resistor is 3.8mV. Due to cycle-by-cycle charge under-current comparator (5mV typ.), the charge goes into non-synchronous mode and the low side driver is turned off.
