BQ40Z50R2 update status = 0x0e , Ra flag = 0055,but Rax flag = ffff is learing success?

hi TI engineer:

first full charge ,wait 2 hours, the update status from 4 to 5.

then full discharge with 0.2c ,wait 5 hours ,  the update status from 5 to 6,  and   Ra flag = 0055,  Rax flag = ffff,   Ra resistor tab update

second  full  charge ,wait 2 hours  ,  the  update status from  0x06 to 0x0e,  and  Ra flag = 0055,  Rax flag = ffff,

              1. what is the different between Ra and Rax?

              2.  update status = 0x0e , Ra flag = 0055,but Rax flag = ffff      is learing success?

              3.  do i need to do full discharge with 0.2c ,wait 5 hours  , continually?

thanks!

  • Hi yanbin,

    1. Ra and Rax are updated in rotation. We assigned two Ra tables per each cells to prevent wearing out dataflash since Ra is updated frequently. If Ra_flag or Rax_flag is set to 0055 which means that table is used and updated. The others are set to ffff or 0000.

Leading two bytes mean that data value in Rable is updated or default value. If they are 00, then they were updated before. If they are ff, they are default value

Ending two bytes mean which table out of two is activated. If they are 55, this table is used and will be updated. If they are 00, this table is disabled

    2. 0e means Qmax Field update. When you completed the first learning cycle, it was updated to 06 successfully. It was updated one more time at next cycle.

Ra flag is updated to 0055 since you updated Ra table during learning cycle and this table is activated. This table will be disabled at next cycle

Rax flag is not updated (default value). This table will be updated and Rax flag will be changed to 0055 at next cycle

ffff means that this table has never been updated and disabled.

    3. You already completed the learning cycle successfully.
