Programming POD bought off Digikey won't communicate with target board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL114, BQWIZARD

Hi,

I’ve bought this programming POD off Digikey (296-23114-ND) in order to replace the one that came with the BQ78PL114 EVM kit. I already returned one, thinking it was defective.

The adapter, as it, doesn’t seem to recognize that something is connected. When I start BqWizard, it says the typical “unable to connect to device”. I usually see this message when the working pod is connected, but there is no answer from the device connected to it.

If I remove the programming pod, the message is different (saying that the GPIO adapter is not connected). So I believe it somewhat recognizes the adapter, but something is wrong.

I’ve followed the firmware update procedure described in C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\bqWizard 2.5\Usb\Readme.txt, but none of the two guide are working (see attached pictures).

I have the same behavior on the other programming pod, the one that is working.

TI provided a “soon to be released” USB-TO-GPIO Firmware loader, which is a more reliable method of reprogramming the USB adapter to work with their devices,

However, the new app doesn’t recognize the POD even tho the green light on the programming pod is lit. The display stays the same when I hit « Update ».

 Thanks for help

Below is a picture of the window I get with the new app TI provided.
