UCC28951-Q1: UCC28951-Q1

Part Number: UCC28951-Q1

Hello Sir,

You have mentioned the maximum rating for CS pin voltage i.e, VREF+0.4 voltage. And maximum vref voltage is 5V. The input current is sensed and proportionately it is converted into voltage and given to the CS pin. If input current exceeds that means if it is proportionately greater than the 5V , what happens to the CS pin . and does the controller gets shutdown ?

if not how to set the voltage such that voltage at CS pin does not exceed 5V ?

And to confirm one thing that threshold voltage of CS pin is 2V , if it goes below that voltage the CS pin will not work ??

Thanks.

  • Hi Rajashekar,

The current sense pin is normally fed from the output of a current sense transformer. The cycle by cycle current limit threshold is 2V, so the normal full load current will be set below this level maybe by 30%, so lets say 1.5V.

In the event of the voltage on the CS pin exceeding 2V the cycle by cycle current limit with trip and terminate the gate drive and the voltage on the CS pin will drop. Under no circumstance should the CS pin see a voltage much greater than the 2V threshold.

The maximum rating is included on the datasheet to inform customers when there is a risk of permanent damage to the device.

    Regards

    Peter
