UC1901: Specification to choose the 1:1 transformer?

Part Number: UC1901
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC1843

Team,

The idea is to use UC1843 as PWM controller and UCx901 for feedback using a transformer:

-Do we have some more precise information to dimension/choose the transformer?
Page 4 gives some information (se below) but do we provide more generic information?
    Transformer Data: N1 = N2 = 20TAWG 26
    Core = Ferroxcube 3E2A Ferrite, 0.5" O.D. toroid
    Carrier Frequency = 1MHz

-Can the TI TINA model we provide be used to dimension/select the transformer?

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

  • Hey Anthony,

    Unfortunately the model is not accurate enough to be able to show the differences in the transformers.

    You are both asking for more precise and more generic information?

    The first part was somewhat confusing, but I will assume you just want me to elaborate on the transformer.

    The transformer is going to be similar to a gate drive transformer where a 1:1 turns ratio is generally used and a high inductance is used.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
