BQ51050B: Recommended PMIC for inductive charging a Manganese Lithium Coin Battery (3V)

Is there a recommendation for a PMIC that can be used to charge a Manganese Lithium coin-cell battery (such as ML2020) while a load is applied to the battery? I've seen PMIC that look applicable (bq51050B) but seem to be tailored for higher voltage batteries... Many thanks in advance!

The BQ5105X would not be a good fit for the ML2020 cell. Fixed 3.1V charging at a very low current.

Thanks so much John -- that does make sense. Are you aware of a better IC option that you might point me at to investigate for this type of circuit? I could put a basic circuit together starting from the battery application notes, but was hoping an IC solution might exist that would give me a running start. Thanks again for the thoughts on this.

If you want to use a wireless power IC the BQ51003, low power RX would work. Output is 5V and that would be supplied to an LDO to drop down to 3.1V to support the battery. At that point one of the charge circuits shown in the ML2020 application note can be used
