Variable constant current surce

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL431

Hi,

My customer has a requirement to supply an adjustable constant current source to a Life Science Board. The current source should be adjustable by a MCU, from 0 - 10A.  The following diagram show the requirement.

Input is a 20V source, and output is a constant current 0-10A, and the output voltage should be clammed at 14V.

I am not able to find any simple power management solution to fit this case.

Any suggestions to the solution ?

Thanks and regards,

CM.

  • Hi uMin,

The only solution that I can think of that can fit those requirements is to use a MCU -> DAC combination. The only way to clamp it to 14V is to use a TL431 like device as a Zener diode. Why do you have a 14V clamp?
In this case, you need a current sink or source?
